Dear Friends, we did go to Sedona. In fact, Matthew's aunt, Kat, a resident of Sedona, was kind enough to be our personal tour guide. We went up into the hills to a town name Jerome, one of the wildest towns in the west at one time. Now it is filled with cute boutiques, restaurants and even a biker bar....but the view, oh the view is outstanding. We had a delicious lunch at the Red Planet...UFO's and Star Trek throughout the decor. On to the the Chapel of the Rocks, a Frank Lloyd Wright design built into the side of the red cliffs...WOW!!! Then we made a stop at Tlaquepaque, the most beautiful shopping establishment. The builder loved trees and refused to cut any down. So he built the building with the trees going through the roofs of the shops...big trees...at angles....fountains, flowers....very relaxing...and a shop that actually sells "ROCK" chairs, and they are comfortable.
I have lots of pictures and some video but we are now in Lake Powell and my signal is not strong enough to download...it keeps kicking me out so the pictures will follow. More later from the Happy Travelers.
You guys are some busy little bees, I love it! Continue to enjoy and have a wonderful time. Sending you lots of love~
ReplyDeleteI have gotten so far behind following your trek to the West.
ReplyDeleteToday is my last day "in the office" at WVPT. I will go up to DC tomorrow (very early) to help Tammy and Sara set up a display for the NECC conference. Saturday will be a long day starting around 3:00 a.m. and not ending until around 10:00 p.m. I couldn't add another night at the hotel so that I could go up tonight (Friday). They were full.
Anyway, hopefully I can get back into the virtual travel mode now that the office is cleaned out, and I will be working from home. I love the videos and pictures. As beautiful as they are, though, nothing is quite like looking at the Grand Canyon in person. It is just awesome.
Thank you for continuing to share you journey with all of us.
