Well folks, this is a picture of a picture. Friday night, Ron and I went out to dinner at a place where they are famous for tossing the rolls, the Fall Creek Steak House. The waiter, who also sang, pitched the hot rolls across the room. As you can see, they fed us well. We then went to a performance of Six, a group of 6 brothers who sing without any accompanying music---they were really amazing. One guy made the drum or percussion sound, another sounded like a horn. They did all kinds of music and really put on a show. This is really a poor description of a remarkable performance.
Friday morning, we were awaken by sirens and flashing lights. I had just read the night before that this would be done if there was the possibility of a tornado or high winds. We dressed quickly and headed for the club house where they have a basement. We later learned that the worst of the storm was just north of us in Springfield where there was a tornado. We were told that straight winds were called for in our area and they could be just as dangerous as a tornado. Luckily, we escaped with no damage.
Branson has been an experience. If you like to be entertained, this is the place. We have met folks from Texas, Oklahoma and this morning at church, we met folks from Williamsburg, Virginia. Monday we head out to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a couple of days.
Before I end this blog, I want to say that when I was saying my Thank yous to my friends for making the trip to Georgia, I failed to say how much I appreciated my family for making the trip. I was fortunate to have my sister-in-law, Linda, who made the sacrifice of being up in the balcony of the church where it was probably 100 degrees, so she could video tape the service. Rob and Daniel, my daughter's-in-law and 3 of my 5 grand kids were also there to share the day. It's Mother's Day today and I'm holding everyone close in my heart.
Well folks, please let us know that you are traveling with us. Leave us a note. More later.
I'm not sure what is going on with the color of your font, but my poor old eyes had trouble reading the yellow print. Is this my computer or is the print really yellow?
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Branson was a lot of fun. With my catching skills, I am not sure I would have ever eaten a roll, but what fun to try!
I have never spent any time in Tulsa so I will be eager to hear about what you have seen and done there.
Watch out for the tornados (hopefully there will be no more scares). Travel safely. I'm looking forward to the next installment.
I do not know what happened but when I used the spell check, the print came out yellow and I could not get rid of it. I had already typed the darn blog and was too tired to erase the whole thing and start again. But I promise, it won't happen again. We are actually in Claremore, Oklahoma, home of Will Rogers this, that and the other. I'll let you know what we do see. There is a FREE gun museum that I know your brother is interested in but I need to find something else. There are supposed to be 400 antique dealers here so I could look for "children's feeding dishes"!!!! Talk to you later, Nana
